Bunker guard

QM Sergeant Lowe, BEF, reported: " During the Axis assault on Chilly, and equipped with a bren, I made the mad dash across the Army Bases open parade ground, taking cover behind the vehicle depot as tracer and bullets hammered into the ground around me. Moving quickly, I skirted around the Vehicle depot and entered the bunker. Taking position at the NE slit in the upper part of the bunker I had a clear view of the Axis infantry's line of assault, namely through the hedgerows either side of the East road.
Immediately I spotted grey uniforms and opened fire, taking down 3 with my first magazine. Recieveing a stock pile of bren magazines from Bopac of the 11th Hussars, I continued to lay down fire on the hedgerows whenever I spotted an opponent. Even with the bunker under heavy machinegun & shell fire, I managed to keep up an accurate rate of fire. As the Axis panzers closed in on the town, an MG bullet found its target through the slit."

Holding the fort

Captain Branko spawned in the Spontin depot in the enemy held town of Ciney. While his fellow soldiers made it out of the depot in order to secure the table, captain Branko remained inside making sure he was not coming to harm. During the mission that lasted 5 minutes, the depot was captured by the germans and Branko remained to welcome the german troops. Inside the depot he managed to kill 7 germans spawning in like stealing candy from kids, before Oberstleutnant Stalg retired him from the battlefield.

Private Stephenson secures bunker in Moerdijik

Today while attack Lux I met a new recruit named Stephenson. A huge part of why I play is to play with others so I asked the man to walk with me. So for the next 2 1/2 hours, the recruit followed me. I had 30 kills or so tonight. He was on his first day and he got about 10. He checked his corners and he spotted things I didn't notice. At one point I told him to lead me somewhere and we ran into Moerdijik. After almost 15 minutes of street fighting, he was given permission by the fellow allies (Lt. Col Binky cleared the bunker) to capture the bunker Nov 09 23:09. S! Stephenson.

Just wanted to make him feel a little welcome, especially when new recruits are always a little lost out there.

Salute!

Entire division boxed in

Lt.Col Giggyboo, 23rd Armour: " The entire 17ID is in timeout now for the next 12 hours. I wish to thank CE and the other allied players at Ciney for staying on the AHC in the sidechat to press that attack. Yes, it interrupted another operation, but no one can argue with the result. But I personally favor trapping and entire division vs. a brigade any day of the week.
Listening to the PB is not a bad thing, and Ciney proved that tonight. We KNEW 17ID was badly attrited. There is the rare occasion where the players know something the HC's don't. So, the AHC gave us the tools 4th INF BDE, 8e and we finished the job. A big *S* to the late night crews who pressed Havelange, Marche, Rochefort, Mean and Nandrin as well."
Ciney and sending the 17ID to the penalty box....

Monsjoex, 23rd Armour, explains what happens: " This topic comes up with every pocket/routing. 17ID was in Nandrin, AB gets captured before all cps -> brigades bounce into pocket because system thinks supply is still going through(due to cps being axis)
I first thought like, man thats just crap brigades need to fallback properly always, but others said: "if your brigades are keep getting crushed and you don't move them away properly than the men could fallback to the wrong town And i kinda agree with them now.

Intercept

Air-Vice Marshal MJDixon1, DFC. reports:

Aircraft: Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Ia "Z-K-L"
Mission Type: Intercept
Airfield: Maubeuge Aerodrome, France
Date: 5th of November 1939

In the early afternoon of the 5th, British ground units in the town of Lier were reportedly under attack by one or more German Bf 109 Fighters, as such I was immediately scrambled with orders to intercept the enemy fighters harassing out troops.
After a short flight from Maubeuge at angels 06 I found myself over Lier and identified below me a single Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 attempting to strafe ground units, as such I circled the area from altitude in order to place myself on his six o'clock position, at which point I dove at him.

The Hun clearly spotted my approach as he immediately made a dash towards his own lines, believing that his Fighter could easily outrun my Spitfire, he was however incorrect in this assumption as I, having begun from a higher altitude, had more energy and as such found it easy to place my aircraft in a firing position on his none maneuvering crate and - after a short burst of fire - took off the Hun's wing, resulting in him crashing into the ground where he came to a stop.
After having intercepted the enemy aircraft I gained altitude to angels 10 and started to return to Maubeuge, after a short time however I spotted a second Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 at a slightly higher altitude off my port wing, as such I gained altitude to match him and then turned to attack.
Upon attacking the second 109 - the Jerry Pilot put his aircraft into a slight dive, I was however able to score some hits on him before he got out of range which forced him into turning combats during which I pierced both of his wings, resulting in heavy fluid loss from his aircraft.
The Hun then tried to dive away again at low altitude, however I fired another burst into his mid section, resulting in him ceasing all control and veering into the ground, presumably killed or otherwise disabled by my machinegun fire beforehand.
Having downed the second 109 I then returned to my original heading and landed at Maubeuge a short time later.
Started Nov 05, 2009 in a Spitfire Mk I from Maubeuge. Ended with 2 kills and 0 captures.

Utinni's War Diary

Convalescence
Friday 18th November 1940

Well they say war is hell, and I guess I found out the hard way.You will notice it has been some time since my last journal entry. You'd think I would have plenty of time to write journal entries from my hospital bed, but unfortunately time is something I have but the ability to write is not until now.I am writing to you from my bed that is true, but I have only just had enough strength in my arm to write.
